If my updates have seemed a little scarce these past few months – like “water fountain in the middle of the Sahara” scarce – it’s because I was already writing at full capacity. To put that in some context, I pulled my shoulder. At my keyboard. While writing. How? By shattering any mental and physical limits I ever know existed on my final revisions to Collision Earth - a script I just finished writing for the SyFy Network. Actually, scratch that – this isn’t just a script. Thanks to the start of production up in Vancouver, I think we just achieved full “movie” status. Here’s the logline:
When a solar event forces Mercury onto a collision course with Earth, a discredited scientist realizes his terrifying weapon of mass destruction may be the planet’s only hope. Racing to activate the weapon before the rogue planet’s influence can tear Earth apart at the seams, he and his team embark on an adventure that takes them from the back roads of California to the vast reaches of space.
Huge thanks to anyone who’s had to field my nonstop questions about planetary physics these past few months. Believe me, there have been many. Good luck to the cast and crew – really looking forward to seeing those words come to life. And tons of shit blow up.
