Shoot For The Moon

Since a finished product shot for the 30-second version of QUIET GAME is still a few days away, I figure now’s the perfect time for another installment in the site’s video podcast. SHOOT FOR THE MOON, my first collaboration with young actor Curt Roland – who’s seen so convincingly taking abuse from Jenna Pack in QUIET GAME – tells the story of a boy who makes his dream of becoming an astronaut come true, courtesy of a little outside the box thinking. Created for Flicker’s “Attack of the 50-Foot Reels” challenge, this 8mm film was cut completely in-camera, which means we had one roll of film and one take at everything. Shot over the course of one very eventful night, the film exhibits all-star work from Curt, producer Christina Ferguson, DP Jeffrey Waldron and gaffer Erin Weller.

And now, thanks to the miracle of the internets, all you home players can recreate the film’s premiere at the Egyptian on the slightly smaller screen of your iPod! A big thanks to everyone who worked on the project, and don’t forget to check back for the finished version of QUIET GAME as the next installment of the podcast!
