Today marks the debut of the TV Spots section of the website, a handy-dandy database of all the spec spots I’ve directed thus far. This means that the Movies page is now reserved for just that – short films – and will hopefully be getting an update of its own sooner rather than later.
This is also a good chance to point out some of the fancy new features that have been added since the site’s debut. On the News page, you’ll find icons that allow you to take full advantage of the website’s capabilities. Click on the ‘Subscribe Now’ icon to become a member of the cultural elite by signing up for my video podcast. Those of you who have already subscribed should stay tuned for the next thrilling installment, which will be posted shortly. For all you cyber-stalkers out there, I’ve added an RSS icon. Clicking on that will take you to a page that – when bookmarked – will automatically let you know when the blog has been updated. Think of it as your own personal bat signal, bearing in mind that when you click on it, the only guy who’ll show up in a black rubber body-suit will be me. And as for the magnifying glass, that marks a super keen search field that will tell you if I’ve ever touched on your favorite subjects here in the blogosphere. It may also have something to do with finding clues to solve mysteries, but I’m probably making that up. The Festivals page has also been kept current, so check in to see where the site and movies are being talked about and seen on the ‘net.
You’ll also notice and “Add a comment” link at the bottom of every blog entry. Clicking on this will allow you to post a written, photographic or even – dear God – video response to any of my cyber-rantings. Up to 5 megs, that is. Bandwidth ain’t free.
I know – all these new toys must make it seem like Christmas. And just like Christmas toys, hopefully they’ll distract you from the fight your parents are having in the kitchen, where a lump of solid carbon that was once a turkey hotboxes the entire house with its rich, smoky essence. Ah, the holidays…
